At least there was music and dancing.

Opening night was tonight, but we had no audience to entertain...so we resorted to entertaining ourselves. Not entirely a bad thing. *smirks*

I found [livejournal.com profile] lulu_mein_herr by herself, waiting for everyone to show up (and wearing an attractive new corset). Soon after, [livejournal.com profile] cheeky_rosie joined us, and then [livejournal.com profile] belle_charlotte. It was getting late and we were all wondering if [livejournal.com profile] your_host would present himself. It would not be a show without him (audience or no audience).

I discovered that the stage has a few loose boards, and I found myself occasionally tripping and nearly falling off. The girls promised to catch me. I considered falling more often. *smirks*

Well, the Emcee did arrive, fashionably late. But unfortunately, Lulu had to leave early, and it was too bad because that was when things picked up a little.

We entreated Charlotte to play for us. I requested a waltz (as I am rather fond of them), and suggested that the Emcee and I form a Rosie sandwich -- so with her squished between us, we twirled around the stage in a dreamy and dizzying dance. Someone got in a few gropes. I'm not sure who it was. *chuckles*

Then the Emcee fancied a jig. Charlotte performed a nifty little number, and while I kept the beat, Emcee and Rosie began a quick-footed, close-bodied dance that was a joy to watch. Eventually they swept me up into it as well. Charlotte played faster and faster. It became rather hot...

Fun always comes to an end. Charlotte and her beloved violin had to depart for the night. Ah, she was wonderful indeed. *smiles thoughtfully* Rosie decided to go off and give Lulu a backrub. And the Emcee disappeared to haunt his haunts. I merely went up to my room, a little tired and overheated, but feeling good. It was indeed a good night, but it could have been better in many ways. Still, it's best to take pleasure in what one already has and make do with what one is given. And there will certainly be more good times to be had.

I'm going to check those loose floorboards in the morning. One wrong step and you go flying. It simply will not do to have the stage using performers as projectiles.

Someone got in a few gropes.

I'll never tell.

*sly look*

Methinks thou dost protest too much.

*blows you a kiss*

*smiles* I am glad you noticed the new addition for opening night.

And I had a wonderful time talking with you.

*chuckles* Yes, I'm very detail-oriented. You looked quite lovely in it. *smiles*

I enjoyed talking with you as well. Seems like we don't chat nearly enough.

*smiles* I've noticed. It is one of the qualities I like about you.

I'll try to be around more often.
