The day after.
Danny's bed was not so uncomfortable after all... Now why on earth did I even doubt that?
I could not help but straighten things out a little, just a bit. Just some items on his table and on his dresser. That was all. And I made the bed even though I know full well that it will promptly be unmade once Danny returns.
On the way back to the Klub, I stop at a nearby café for a late breakfast of coffee and a danish. As I eat at a window table, I wonder if Fraulein Kost is all right. Should I pay her a visit? I highly doubt that she would be pleased to see me, of all people. I pass on the decision for the time being.
Hopefully Ophilia is feeling better today. Hopefully Frankie's neighbors were not kept awake all night. And hopefully Victor... Well, I'm not sure what I hope for Victor just yet. I try to keep from smiling as I think of his smooth American drawl. ...Quite honestly, it makes me want to melt.
Shaking myself free of all that, I finish my breakfast and leave the café. It is a brisk day and I walk quickly with my hands deep in my pockets. Upon arriving at the Klub, I push the door open, and the sound of piano notes hits my ears before they abruptly stop. I close the door and make my way through the room, shedding my jacket, and I see Victor alone on the stage.

*Still trembling and with a gasping, shaky voice he bends towards the man on the bed and croons to Herman:*
God, you're so beautiful like this... c'mon, baby, come for me.

*An idea strikes him and he retrieves his washcloth from beside the wash basin. Wetting in in the cool water, he returns to Herman's side. He leans over him, still smiling warmly and gently kisses his forehead and then his mouth. He runs the wet cloth over his hot face and then down over the red and purple colored bruises beginning to show on the curve of his throat. He bends and lightly kisses those too, giving him a nip just for good measure.*
*He cleans his chest and belly and then the hand that rests across his stomach before rinsing the cloth and sponging himself clean. With a satisfied sigh, which suddenly blends into a yawn, he stretches across the bed on his stomach, and pillows his head on his crossed arms. He has no words to say, so he merely closes his eyes.*

*Picking his trousers up off the floor, he puts them on a little wearily, and doesn't bother to button up his shirt. He gathers up his socks and shoes and carries them in one hand, stopping to run his other hand up the slope of Victor's back, and giving his shoulder a massaging squeeze before turning to head for the door.*

You don't have to go, you know.
*Aware that he's still quite naked, he gets up and walks over to him. Lifting a hand, he lightly smooths back Herman's tousled hair and trails a finger behind his ear. His smile quirks into a smirk.*
I hope what I said earlier... you know... about getting hooked, won't scare you off. I guess if I go without sex for a long stretch of time, I get a little needy. I still want to get to know you, and hopefully become your friend.

*he takes Victor's chin in his hand and kisses the corner of his mouth; with a grin:* See you later downstairs?

I'll be there.

*still smiling, he turns, opens the door, and steps out into the hallway, walking away barefoot toward the staircase*
