Last night I had two different dreams about the same person. I won't say who, exactly, as it is someone quite dear to me...but it never ceases to amaze me that the infinite fantasy world where one's subconscious dwells can seem so utterly real that it nearly breaks one's heart to wake up.

I danced with [livejournal.com profile] little_helga today. I heard swing music emanating from backstage, and I found her dancing to "In the Mood." So I swept her up and we did the Jitterbug together. I think that impressed her. *chuckles* It was grand. She was grand...a very, very sweet girl, and I like her more and more with each day.

Just before I moved to this area of Berlin, I lived in Potsdam. I worked at a little playhouse where we used to stage all sorts of plays and even holiday pantomimes for the local schoolchildren. Claire was an actress who took a fancy to me. She had a sister who lived in America...somewhere in California (I forget the name). And she used to send her the latest records by popular American singers and bands. What a treasure! We would often stay at the theatre after hours listening to them, as she didn't have a gramophone at home. And we would dance on the stage...tirelessly and endlessly, it seemed...for an audience of none.

It occurs to me that since I left home, I have never lived in one town for more than six or seven months. Here I am in the heart of Berlin...I suspect that six months from now, I will be somewhere else. But I won't think of that just yet.

The weather has let up a bit, although it's still cold and overcast. I should take better care of myself.
